Following up from our blog post on London’s Real Tech Startups and infographic, today we’re releasing the full list of companies used in our report. In addition to the 250 companies counted in Central London for our report, we have also included all online startups in greater London. This, plus several that have been brought to our attention, takes the number to approximately 330 companies. Below, you will find a link to each of the tech and online startups in London that are younger than ten years. We’ve also included links to their respective company profiles on Duedil for all companies that are registered in the UK or Ireland. At the bottom of the list is an interactive map of London featuring each company on our list, along with all the digital and creative agencies, and their most up-to-date locations. To find a specific company, just type it into the search at the top of the map.
Note: Some markers on the map below will have more than one company listed, so look out for the clickable page numbers in the pop-up information windows.

Financials, litigations, directorships, stock information & more for over 7.9M UK companies.

Full is such a dangerous term to use. At least half a dozen I can think of in less than a minute not on there.
- RoryBernard, November 29, 2011Good point you raise Rory. By ‘full’ we meant the full list from our report, a more accurate description would be ‘Our List of London Startups’. Please send any you can think of to andrew at duedil dot com. Bear in mind some of the companies you’re thinking of may have been classified in the Mixed category if they did not fit our criteria. Thanks, Andrew.
- Andrew Connolly, November 29, 2011Surprised that we aren’t on here as just came 2nd in Deloitte’s annual Fastest growing tech companies in the UK – http://www.deloitte.co.uk/fast50/winners/winners-list-2011/.
- Justin, November 30, 2011We also came 3rd in the whole EMEA region.
So the PM said over 600 [1], Duedil retorted with 250 [2] and now approximately 330, London Startups is surprisingly similar with 338 [3], meanwhile Tech City Map now has over 1000 [4], the Guardian also has its own map but with only 400 technology startups across the whole UK (I thought they were supposed to be good at data journalism!) [5].
Not bad seeing as both the terms “tech” and “startups” are poorly defined and often misused. I guess the absolute number is less important than acutally having a agreed upon definition and methodology then seeing trends over time.
What would be interesting is knowing how this compares to other startup hubs like Berlin, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Moscow…etc. But I don’t know if those countries have the equivalent of Duedil or even Companies House.
