In this series of employee profiles, we’re taking a look at what it’s like to work at DueDil.
Today we would like to introduce Anneliese Niebauer, one of our talented Business Development Managers. Originally from the United States, Anneliese joined the team in February 2017 and previously lived in Barcelona and Dublin before moving to London.
What were you doing before you joined DueDil?
I was doing sales at an adtech company called AdRoll, a venture-backed startup that rapidly grew to about 500 people globally. After three years running different parts of the sales team, I was excited to go back to a smaller startup where there are more opportunities to shape the course of the company.
Why did you decide to join DueDil?
There were three main reasons: the product, the people, and the size of the company. DueDil is solving a huge problem and it’s doing it in a way that no-one else in the industry has been able to. This really stood out to me when I was researching the company.
Throughout the interview process, I was hugely impressed by the professionalism and enthusiasm of the team, and this convinced me that this was the right opportunity for me.
What do you think is unique about the DueDil culture?
The level of ownership and autonomy that you are given demonstrates that DueDil really trusts its new hires and expects them to succeed. You have the opportunity to own your business, and management does what it can to remove any barriers to your success.
How are you empowered in your daily work to make an impact?
The company invests a lot in employee growth with sales training, workshops, and regular tech talks. There’s a really collaborative atmosphere: the people that work here are supremely talented, and there’s so much you can learn from working with them.
What differentiates DueDil from its competitors?
DueDil is a startup in an industry dominated by old-school incumbents, which means we’re able to stay agile and develop our product rapidly. We take pride in incorporating user feedback into product development - customer engagement and satisfaction is vitally important to us.
In terms of other people joining DueDil, if you had to prioritise traits or behaviours that candidates should demonstrate, what would they be?
For the Sales team especially, it’s important that new team members are self-starters and bring a ton of energy to work every day. In terms of the wider company, always being honest, open and willing to learn new skills will stand you in great stead.
